On July 24 (the fourth Saturday in July), come celebrate the 15th Annual National Day of the American Cowboy in the heart of Texas!
An event that began in 2005, this grand occasion pays tribute to the culture, contributions and virtues of cowboys and cowgirls who symbolize the heritage of the American West. This special, family-friendly event will offer visitors the opportunity to experience a cowboy’s everyday life through a variety of events and festivities, including gunfight shows, roping training, horse races, cowboy poetry, contests, live music, a parade, and more!

John Wayne: An American Experience
Special guest, Marisa Wayne, youngest daughter of Western film legend John Wayne, will serve as grand marshal for this all-day event. See her around the Stockyards and in a convertible Cadillac with the Stagecoach float in the parade!
At 1 p.m., take part in the John Wayne impersonation contest at John Wayne: An American Experience. Marisa Wayne will judge the contest. Prizes include a signed bottle of Duke Bourbon and two shot glasses (21 and older), or a $50 gift certificate to John Wayne: An American Experience. All ages are welcome — come share your best John Wayne impersonation!
John Wayne: An American Experience will also be raffling prizes, including tickets to the museum, gifts cards to the John Wayne Stock & Supply store, and free entries to the 5K John Wayne Grit Series run in Fort Worth Stockyards on November 13, 2021.
